hey my hair colour is naturally medium to dark blonde but i really want to lighten it, is it ok to put blonde hair dye on blonde hair as i heard it will turn my hair green =} really dont want that to happen ????

Its fine to use an at home haircolor kit - it can lighten your hair up to 2 shades. Keep in mind your hair will not look like the color on the box, but a combo of that color and your own starter color.

If you have hair that looks more light brown then dark blonde (sometimes blondes don't realize their hair has darkened over time to an almost lightest brown color and isnt blonde anymore), make sure you use Medium blonde at the most.

An ash color blonde might make your hair look like it has a greenish cast to it, so if you do it make sure you use a neutral blonde color or a beige blonde. Any golden blonde color might make your hair look orangey or brassy.

uh It will turn Orange! mine did.... and then it cost me close to $300 to fix it!! DON'T do it yourself!!

if you want to lighten just go to the salon and get some highlights!! you can find places to do it for around $50.00- depending where you live.

use 1/2 quick blue, 1/2 kaleidacolors to correct brassy (orange) tones from sally and a 40 volume peroxide. Mix it to a good consistency (so it doesn't drip while using it). If you don't have a dye in your hair already and it is natural it will come up a few shades lighter pretty quick (especially if you use a plastic cap and heat it up with your blow dryer). Dyed hair takes longer to lighten than natural. This looks natural on dark to medium blonde hair. Just three shades lighter makes it look like your hair has some shine to it, and also adds some dimension to your hair.
