Permanent hair dye question?

This is the first time my sister is dying her hair with permanent hair color. She's using Ion color brilliance. She has to mix the hair dye with the creme developer.... Should she use gloves? What type of bowl should she mix it in? What should she use to mix it?

Permanent hair dye question?

Um....if she doesn't know to wear gloves or not, she should not even be *thinking* about dying her hair herself.

Just follow the directions, she'll be fine.

Permanent hair dye question?

yes she should wear gloves, just a plastic bowl, and a metal or wooden spoon

Permanent hair dye question?

I'm not sure what comes in a home color kit. But never mix color in a metallic bowl. Did it come with a brush to apply the color? If so, mix it with that. And always use gloves. Since it's her first time coloring with permanent color, make sure you watch her scalp the whole time she's processing to make sure she doesn't have an allergic reaction to the pigment.

Permanent hair dye question?

I assume you bought the color at a beauty supply since ion color brillance is a proffessional product. I use it myself, and I am a stylist. Any time you use a permanent hair dye the first time, a patch test should be done first. This is one reason it should be done proffessionally the first time at least. I am a hairstylist, and I have also had a bad reaction to a patch test (a test done in salon to determine if you will react to the dye allergically)when I was younger. I don't react any longer to permanent hair dye, but allergic reactions can change. I would get it done proffessionally at least the first time.

Permanent hair dye question?

She should wear gloves unless her hands will be colored. She need to use a small plastic or glass bowl that is designated for this purpose. She should not use this bowl for eating later on. She can use a straw or plastic stick to mix the formula. By the way, that is a nice hair color that she is using-

Permanent hair dye question?

Im going to assume that she probably picked that dye up from Sally Beauty since they are the only Beauty Supply store that carry it (I know from experience - i work there lol) tell her that yes she needs to have a pair of gloves. If she doesnt have gloves she can buy a single pair at Sally's for about 50 cents. Tell her to mix it with developer (2 ounces of developer per box of ion dye). If she's going to mix it in a bowl, use a plastic bowl (you can also pick those up at Sallys for about 2 dollars). It's not hard, I do it all the time and i've done all of my friends hair and my mothers hair. Ion is by far the best line we have. If she has any further questions, tell her to ask the ladies or guys at Sallys. Good luck!
