Is men's hair dye and diffrent then women's?

My God brother wants me to dye his hair black for him. Does it matter if I use My hair dye. Or Do I have to go out and buy men's hair dye for him.

I know a lot of guys who use women's hair dye. The different dyes are a money racket. Men's hair dye costs more.

no it doesn't matter....but i would use a womens dye instead and use a semi perm not permanent..otherwise he might look dull colorwise...maybe even a wash out...he could always hate the hair color especially black

Nope, it's just a marketing thing. The hair dye marketed towards women *may* have more hair dye included to cover longer hair styles, but that's just a guess on my part. The ingredients are the same, so I say go with whatever is cheaper.

actually, there is a difference... in my experience, men's hair tends to have stronger underlying red pigment (especially if the hair has grey or is going from light brown to dark brown then more ash is needed and lower the volume of peroxide)but if you are tinting his hair black it's not a problem... go ahead and use women's tint... I love Feria by L'Oreal... they have the nicest dark colors... don't use if he has grey as it won't cover use Preference by L'Oreal instead
