Is hair dye safe to use? Is there any proof that it can cause nerve or other damage?

I want to use hair dye for my goatee. There is Just for Men, and it stinks (chemical smell). I was wondering if this stuff is safe to use, like for 20 years or so? Has anyone had a bad experience with hair dye other than the expected folks with alergies?

I've used hair color for over 30 years, and nothing bad has happened to me, with the exception of this other head resting on my left shoulder....

I don't know of any studies that define hair dye as bad for you to use. I don't know of any, but that also does not mean it's okay to use as long as I have used it.

Anything that would burn your eyes is probably not a safe chemical.

nope its safe... you should follow instructions found in the back of the dye like the time it should stay in your hair.. then you sure youll be safe...

My mom hasn't had any problems with her hair color....

Seriously, if you use it right and don't overdo it you should be fine.

I use hair dye monthly.....I'm fine. You should be safe. Try a little area first to make sure if yuio want.

Hair dye has to be approved by the FDA, just like any other product that goes on or in your body. So if it's not on the label , there is not the slightest chance of it happening.

im not a guy but i am a hair dresser and i will tell you that the smell you..smell is ammonia. it could be very strong.. its not bad to use if its not open. if you opened it already and havent used it and let it sit there then DONT USE IT. and the only way you can tell if you having a allergic reaction is that your skin gets irritated and burns. try not to get it on your skin since your coloring it. it will stain you skin for a couple days. hair color is safe to use.. you can color your hair every day and it still would be fine.. it would be dry but nothing else would happen. its only if you bleach your hair. that stuff is very harsh not only to your hair but on your skin.. it actually burns your skin.. trust me i know. but thats what i gte for not wearing golves

Hair coloring is fine, as long as you follow the directions and use it on your hair. I use Just for Men on my hair and the smell doesn't bother me... however my wife doesn't like it.

As long as you keep it out of your eyes and don't drink it, it's fine.
