it will increase the color but it will not prolong the color stay

no, the only thing that will increase the redness of it is the proxide that you put with it..try a 40 volume and that should help...but if its out of the box its only 20 vol and leaving it on longer with not help..

it in most cases will increase the depth of color in the end result ... HOWEVER it will most of the time also damage your hair extensively - be sure to deep condition right after rinsing the color out. My fave' deep conditioner is Smooth and Shine 60 second repair... only i leave it in for about 15 minutes. Its FABULOUS and only about 1 dollar a package.

No, keeping color on longer wont make a difference, after the time it stops processing. If you want to increase the red, u can prelighten first, even a couple of shades helps red stay longer but I would not advise doing it yourself. Also use shampoos for color treated hair, preferably one for red hair, it will help it last longer and be more vibrant.

The only way to achieve bright red on dark brown hair, is to lighten your hair first.(stuff for blondes)

Then apply a bright red colour.

Nope but it will increase the chances of your hair being over processed and falling out.

Hair color is a chemical formula, it works in a self- timing manner. Color is stagnant for the first few minutes in order to allow for application. Next, the color lifts, or lightens, the pigment of your hair. The final step is depositing, this is when the color sets into the hair. Rinsing color before the time is up will result in untrue tint. Leaving it on too long will do the same. Any residual peroxide in the color will actually begin to eat away at the newly deposited molecules. To intensify red, you may need a new formula for your particular natural shade. Also, be sure to use the coldest water possible on your hair. Red dye is the quickest to fade. Color will not lighten color. If you have dark brown dye on it now, you can only change the tint with another color. The red probably will not give good results unless the brown is removed first. This is damaging for your hair. Good Luck!!
