I want to dye my hair black semi-permanently. My hair is naturally light brown/golden blonde.

What are the best dyes for a glossy black? Thanks!

thats what have :] except its a permanent dye . mine is blue black because i wnated DARKER than black color . go tot he nearest beauty supply store and ask for cellofane black colors :]

I always like Garnier, but I'm not sure it's not permanent.

If you decide you like the color, consider dyeing your hair with a combination of henna and indigo (health food store) - it's super healthy for your hair and makes it really shiny and lovely. It is permanent, though.

I heard this product called Henna... it's from natural plants also called Henna. so it's good because it's not chemical..

Black is a hard color to get out of your hair.

and if you decide it's not for you it takes a long time to get it out of your hair.[not to mention a lot of money!]

I would got for a darker brown [like chocolate] before u make the drastic choice of black.

* The Hair dye I used was semi-permanent as well and even then I had a hard time getting it out of my hair.I finally decided to get it bleached out because I look too washed out.

The bleaching process is hard on your hair and your wallet.It's considered a correction.Not to mention in order for it to not mess up your hair so badly you need to have the correction sessions spaced out.trying to do it all at once severely damages your hair.

** my hair at the time was also a light golden brown.

i have dyed my hair plenty of time, and when it comes to black..be careful because the "black" colour that comes off is not naturally looking at all!!. it doesn't turn out like Asian black. you will seriously have to consider before dying it black as dyed black hair on everyone does not look naturally at all because of the fading of colour that occurs so easily with dyed black hair. and plus if you wanna dye it lighter after dyeing it black that is a mission as well.
