Hair Dye when Pregnant ??

hiya i have an appoitment on saturday i will be 7 weeks pregnant and i am getting a full head of har extensions and the top of my hair dyed to match my hair extensions - i get this done every 5 months - and i am 7 weeks pregnant and would like to know will i still beable to get the top of my hair dyed to match ?? - its not all my hair just the top bit ?

Yes I agree it will not harm the baby I actually had my whole head died at 6 months pregnant and I called my doctor before I done it and they said no go for the chemicals in hair dye these days arent as strong as they used to be more natural extracts in them . Hope I helped good luck God bless.

Because of your hormones its not smart... My sylist wouldnt let me color my hair until my 14th week so let them know before hand that you are pregnant. It will not hurt the baby it just might not turn out the color you wanted.

of course this won't do anythingt o hurt your baby, years ago it was a risk because what they use to put into the hair dye was bad during the first few months of pregnancy while the baby was developing but they no longer use these chemicals in hair dye, as long as you have good air circulation through out the room then all is fine. good luck

if you check out studies and stuff, it is still unknown the effects of hair dying on the baby. though it is not likely to have a real effect. stick to dyes with less chemicals. and most doctors will suggest waiting until after the first trimester. i wait until the third myself. do note that with the hormones and stuff, it may not even take. with my son i had no issues. with my current pregnancy, i colored my hair 2 days ago and it was a big waste of my time.

Ok, I had it done during my two pregnancies and none of my kids have 2 heads ;)

Seriously, as long as you don't do it every months or so, it's okay. Just make sure you don't breathe too much of the chemical stuff.

All the doctors told me no, not to have chemicals in the first trimester. Although you should always listen to your doctor, I on the other hand had mine frosted and highlighted on all my pregnancies. And mine were fine. So it's up to you.

I Have always dyed my hair black but when iwas pregnat my Ob advised against it. The fumes are bad for you and so are all of the house hold cleaning chemicals. I would tell you not to dye your hair and wait until you have your baby, better safe than sorry after all its just hair.

Well first congratulations on the pregnancy.

I am 18 weeks and have been recomended by the company who provide my hair hair extentions that it is not a good idea as your hormones make your hair fall out more easily in pregnancy (are you having to sign a diclaimer saying that you are a wreof this?)

I think the hair dye is ok providing it does not touch your scalp but you would be best off asking the hairdresser, the decision is yours in the end though.
