Can I put permanent red hair dye over my bleached hair?

Today I got my hair bleached and dyed over, darker, the color came out horrible. I was wondering if I could just put a red hair dye over the recently colored parts of my hair as long as the dye doesn't contain amonia? Also, is head and shoulders a wax based shampoo? I need wal mart products here because I'm not made of money lately. Thanks.

Yes.. but the outcome may look a little on the orange or pink side unless you leave it on for the maximum amount of time. Consult a professional hairdresser or read the instructions carefully.

Give it a week as the colour may lighten in that time.Wash your hair every day.My hairdresser told me that the anti-dandruff shampoos strip colour out of the hair, so you could try the Wal-Mart ones.You don't want to put another colour on straight away, it could ruin your hair.

You need to start with a dark color to cover up the mess you made! Dark brown works. Then you can start over....but not for a while. You don't want your hair to fall out.

What I put in my hair was Revlon coloring, but I think your hair might be too dry. Wait for at least one month, before dying it again... For the meantime, put a whole lot of conditioner on your head to keep it from becoming dry. You can redye the hair but you will have to go for a much darker color otherwise the color will be mis shaded through out all of your hair. Head and shoulders is not wax based and is really good for flakes. And, i believe you can get it at wal-mart. Good Luck.

you could put another color over it, however you may come out with more horrible hair than you have now... what color did you put over they dye? I would not suggest red becuase red is a funny color when it comes to dye... especially when put over bleach it will probably be orange. You will need to know more about hair dye and hair dye base colors and what the reactions between different colors will be before you go dying it again. THe fact of it containing amonia or not has really nothing to do with it as for color. I would highly reccomend going to a stylist or IF you really want to dye it go with a really dark color that is "ash" or natural.... if you go dark- most dark colors will mask the funny color it is to begin with. But if you want to try the red, go ahead... it wont hurt your hair to put dye on it again.. but just hope the color turns out okay
