Best hair dye to lighten dark hair?
NO %26gt;%26gt;%26gt;NO NO
it does not have to be platinum.....help.....
just buy the colors separate...not a BOXED KIT%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;
here's a guess.....if you want more exact email me......
Buy a tube of 8N NEUTRAL and a Tube of 7A Ash Brown
and then use 40Volume Developer......is the trick........
USE Wella's Color Charm
or I can sell you some pro stuff if you have pay pal.....
either way - now you know where to go.
those kits have the wrong volume of developer in them.....which is why they don't work.........
email me for exacts....
if u need them
Oh Jiminy Crickets I just read the other girls answer ...I never do ...and should never...
the deal is.........
20 volume : lifts 1 level.....
30 volume : lifts 2- 3 levels
40 volume: lifts 3- 4 levels
go on my blog and see what color you own hair is on the Universal hair chart.....If it is a level 5 I am assuming......THAT's what matters........
Looka t the chart.....
if your hair is a level 5..........
and you want to go up to a level 7....
that's 2 levels.... you would use 30 Volume........
or if you are a level 4 and want to go to a Level 8 .......
That would be 4 levels of lift.....so use a 40 Volume......
the problems come when say you are a level 3 and want to be a Level 8..........OK that is 5 levels....NOW WHAT???????
at that point you then use the tube of COLOR AND the Developer......you would then use a higher level of color....to compound the level of lift....you do NOT HAVE TO BLEACH YOUR HAIR%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;
please, go get a free consultation by the best colorist in the area or you can look at my work....
to see the level I work at.......
I am going to make that section on my blog tonight or tomorrow....
if i get the time!
help!

Go to a hairdresser's.Don't do any experiment on your own,as you may destroy your hair.A professional will help you.If you have any money-problem just save a small monthly amount and go.

nothing is going to make your dark brown hair into light brown hair besides bleach...
color only lifts 3, sometimes 4 levels. if your hair is a true dark brown (2 or 3), the highest it COULD get would be a 5, which is only a medium brown, and thats probably pushing it. it most likely will turn red and/or orange too.
just go to a salon...i know it costs more money, but if you try it yourself and screw it up, you're going to end up spending MORE to get it fixed.

First time around I would go see a hair stylist and make sure he/she chooses the right shade for your skin type.

You can try Feria Hi-Lift Browns, by L'Oreal, it lightens you hair up to 3 shades, without going brassy or oraenge, only on natural, not color treated hair.

First as everyone recommended, I would say go to the hairstylist- it will save you alot of grief if you mess up. but since i'm sure you'll probably try to do it yourself and mess up anyway-because that's what usually happens, I 'll give you a second option. Go to Sally's beauty supply and pick up L'Oreal Excellence Hicolor Permanent Hair Color. Here's the link: http://www.sallybeauty.com/shop/1410/500...
or Feria xtra Lift Hair Color:

Pick the color your looking for (not the platinum blond ) unless you want blond- and pick up a developer. I would recommend Ion Vol 30- as this brand smells great, and is gentler on your hair. Next go to the Cashier and ask what ratio is advised- usually its 1:1. It will usually tell you the ratio on the box of color so read the little box/ tube as well to double check.
Understand tho that color cannot lift color- I have tried the high lift hair colors and they do work... and one more thing. Pick up a color sealant/ conditioner for your hair- My Fav is the Ion brand Color Defense After Color Sealing Treatment. It comes in a packet for roughly $1.99. This will save your hair when the coloring has fried it.
Good Luck
