Which hair dye gives you better results?

calioral or Garnier nutreese(sorry if I didn't spell it right). I'm just worried about a bad dye job. I've got medium to dark brown hair and fair skin. I either wanna dye it red or golden brown.

I'll be honest with ya hun...The store bought stuff is garbage, and what you are trying to do is lift color, which is best done by a professional. You really wont be able to get golden or light colored hair without bleach or "high lift color". If you are fair skinned, you'd be better off with the red, and depending on the shade, you may be able to do the red without bleach. Go to a Sally Beauty supply, pick up a bottle of hair dye (Wella or Loreal are good brands, two bottles if your hair is long) If you are intent on the golden, which may wash you out if you are fair skinned, get a level 30 developer, otherwise, for red, get a level 10 developer (healthier on your hair).

You will also need gloves, a bowl to mix in, a dye brush and a crappy towel. For all of this, it costs little more than a box of hair dye and you will get professional results. Ask a friend to help if you can. Come it through and let it sit for 20-45 minutes, depending on which color you choose, testing by wiping a strand "clean" with a paper towel to see if you are happy with the results... Rinse til the water runs clear, shampoo, condition (better to put in a conditioner, cover with a shower cap for 30 minutes, or use a blowdryer) then rinse....

One more time...go for the red....drives the boys crazy anyways...Good luck!

I've found that garnier works better

I would avoid Garnier- if you're young, try Feria, if you have some gray, try Preference. Garnier's pigmentation looks fake, like it was "inked" on.

well i would go with golden brown . that is my hair color!

It depends on what you're going for... some people want to cover gray or enhance color but have it look natural. Some people like bright bold color (Garnier and Feria are good for this. I like Hydrience, too.) instead. I like to have very shiny black hair and I don't want it to look natural - I want it as black as I can get it! And I know of some artificial redheads who like very vibrant color instead of a soft, natural red. You said you were thinking about red but not HOW red. :)

I like the Hydrience product best. Remember to look at the side of the box and match your existing color with the outcome - not at the front of the box. The Hydrience leaves your hair feeling better. Good luck.
