What is the best hair dye to cover up highlights without damaging hair?

I got highlights, but i don't like them anymore. I want to dye my hair back to my natural color which is a light brown. I want to pick the right dye that will cover up the highlights, wont fade, %26amp; wont damage my hair so much. i just want my hair back to the way it was before! any suggestions?

You just have to wait about a month or it can mess up your hair. Also about every hair dye is the same about that, you just might want to buy some that is better quality or the highlights might show through.

The only color that won't damage your hair is a semi-permanent color. It should grab onto the highlights good., and leave your hair shinier than a perm color.



All colors will fade on highlights...doesn't matter if they are perm or semi-perm. But the semi-perm is the most gentle. If it fades in a month, you can color it again with the semi-perm. Permanent color will open the cuticle and produce more damage.



Once your hair is highlighted, it will never be exactly like it was before you highlighted it. That hair has been stripped and damaged.
