Is black hair dye hard to come out?

I have dark brown hair, and I want to dye it black, and add purple highlights, but my mom says that if I want to re-dye it again later to a different color, that black is the hardest color to re-dye, is that true?

When I was younger, my hair would change by the week, it seemed. I would go red to black, black to red, blond...the occasional purple, blue, orange. As for black being hard to come out; I guess it depends on if you're having it professionally done or doing it yourself. I always did it myself. To go from black to red, I would bleach the black out...but that would turn my hair a nice shade of orange instead of blond. However, since I was planning on going back to red, it didn't matter what color my hair turned after black as long as it wasn't black. The professionals may be able to do it in fewer steps. If you're planning on going back to your natural hair color after going black, just bleach the black out and then dye your hair the closest color to your natural color you can find. That way it won't look horrible as your natural color comes back in.

So to further answer your question, getting black out of your hair isn't TOO hard- just a little time-consuming. Good luck!

It's the hardest color to re-dye yes. But if you have darkbrown hair, the black dye fades quickly. So you can re-dye as soon as the color has faded away. That should take three months or so.
