Hair Dye from Brown To ...?

Hey all,

i was wondering what color I should dye my hair to. I have darkish brown hair with a few hints of golden red (you can sort of see it in the sunlight). I wanted to go with reddish brown, or something. I realyl dont want to spend like $60 having a professional do it, as well as having everyone see me do it while Im there, so is there a good box brand? What color would look best?

well, I wouldn't dye my hair, if i were you. I would do several shades of highlights. If you want to go lighter you could do some beautiful auburn tones and my golden dark blonde, but it would have to be DARK blonde. If you wanted to g darker you could do really deep chocolate browns and maybe deep caramel. I hope this helps.

P.S. you could do caramel either way, lighter or darker. It is al in what shade you get.

Hey, I did that. I have brown hair with the golden red color and it really glistened in the sunlight. I go to a salon to get mine done. I tried the Revlon Colorsilk (it's inexpensive), but was too brassy and I prefer a deeper richer red or auburn color.

Reasons to get it done at a salon:

They know what they are doing

You are going to get the color you desire

Red is one of the most difficult colors to get right and even more difficult to keep

I also stay away from Redken because it faded too quickly

You are going to have to invest in shampoo for color-treated hair and a conditioner for color-treated hair. A colored conditioner is even better because it will actually deposit a little color to keep your color looking vibrant longer.

I don't know where you live, but they have beauty schools where you can get salon services at a fraction of the cost of regular salons. I live in TX and I can get the color done for $17.00 (all over, no highlights)

I hope you try it and enjoy being "red", you will be amazed at the number of people who take notice of you!!!!
