Farouk, or Wella Magma but these are only ones you can get done in the salon. Sorry. The ones on the market I can't recommend because I don't personally believe in their product. Number one, the color charts are not helpful because everyone's hair is different with different undertones and such, so two people who have med. brn. hair could end up with a completely different result. Hair colorists and stylists are trained to mix color so that it reacts with the hair's natural highlights and undertones to create the color the client and stylist want. Most store brands don't do that or I wouldn't answer so many questions here about how to fix store color gone bad. Call around salons and find one that uses them and compare prices. Its worth the price and effort in the long run.

It is cheap too if you buy it at walmart about 5$ sometimes plus don't forget to save the coupon that it comes with. for the next time you buy some you can save at least a 50 cents or more.

I bought the real expensive kind (loreal paris) but it didn't last me. It washed away in a few weeks. I was sad! So try the Hydrience. A lot of hairstylist have told me not to use any of these either. They actually told me to avoid them from stores and just go to sally's beauty supply or a place that sells hair salon stuff.

Revlon (Doesn't last washes out too fast), Garnier (same)

First of all, try to realize that black hair dye is the hardest to reverse, so remember it is a commitment. It is much easier to go darker than it is lighter. Plain old simple Nice N' Easy will work but after trying just about all brands, I think Feria by Loreal is the best. It really does give prettier results.

You will be able to wash it and you may see dye come out but its not a lot. It seems alot but isn't.

find something that is labeled "permanent" and does not have a blue base in it if you are trying for a natural look. i can't suggest a specific brand because i don't use the same ones every time. rather, i have a feel for how my hair reacts to dye as compared to the examples that come on the sides of the boxes. if i were to recommend any brand it would be manic panic nyc(u can find them online) but i use that for "unnatural" colors (like green).

I would recommend using a hair dye remover from Sally Beauty Supplies. I had brown hair and wanted to back to blonde, well when I dyed my hair blonde it came out red and orange due to a bad bottle of hair dye. I went to the Supplies store and that's what they recommend. The kit took all of it out and more. The color I ended up with was a light ash blonde and no red in sight

try using clarifying shampoo...if you used it everyday it will slowly remove the dye out of your hair....it's meant to remove all the buildup... ie. conditioners, mousse, gel, hairspray, dyes....etc

I have had RED RED in my hair before and all i did was go to a hair store, like sally's and get a little bottle that says red out or orange out depending on how much red you have in you hair and its your a blonde brunette or whatever . but i wouldn't suggest bleaching it because it will either pull red even more, pull a pink, or just strip and fry your hair i would say go for a darker color for now to over power the redness

I had this experience several years ago when my hair was a dark auburn, but my real hair color is ash blond. I went to a salon and they did a peroxide wash to help remove it, and it came out a little brassy, but not too bad . However, I was unhappy with this so I bought a haircolor close to my natural one, a medium ash blond, and because my hair was now lighter, the haircolor totally covered everything and blended with the roots. Be careful, I wouldn't try the all over bleach thing by yourself because you could have some serious breakage-don't go the manic panic route! It should be professionally done. Good luck!

Dye the hair black first, then do the purple streak after that...dependant on what your hair colour is aswell....

sometimes i'd suggest getting the hairdresser to do it, as blacks quite a hard colour to come off if you catch it around ur hairline, neck etc...

If you do get any around ur face then use a little bit of milk on cotton wool right away akaline will get rid of it......but it has to be right away.....

Separate the hair that you want to dye black from the hair you want to dye purple. The section that you want purple is going to need to be pretty light before you put the purple color on, so if you want a bright purple color, you should bleach it first. BUT before you bleach it, put the black dye on the rest of your hair first. Black dye is really strong and if it even gets on the separate section of hair when you rinse it out, it could color it. After you've left the black dye on your hair and rinsed it out, start with the bleaching/purple.

If you do need to bleach, be careful! Read the directions carefully. It can easily damage your hair.

To prevent black dye from getting all over your skin, put vaseline around your neckline and ears. It'll protect from the dye.

It depends on the chemicals in the dye. Call the Customer Service number on the box of dye and ask them, they can tell you if their product is safe to use during pregnancy.

Aside from that, you would definitely want to dye your hair in a well-ventilated room.

You might find, after all that, the dye doesn't want to stay in your hair. Those hormones can really affect the way the chemicals act.

I am 7 months right now and have dyed my hair through my whole pregnancy and me and baby fine. I only do highlights and not very many. Make sure that whoever does your hair knows you are pregnant, I think that they get less close to your scalp. And make sure you are in a well ventilated area. TIP: once you have a baby you will have less time and probably cash to keep up your hair color so this might be a good time to start to change your hair color to an easier color to upkeep, something closer to your natural hair color for example so that you can go more time between dye times or something you can touch up at home. Just a little tip :)

she said that as long as you do it in a well ventilated area then your are fine,but to realise that some peoples hair freaks out during pregnany so it might react differently than normal to the colouring process.

alot of people say no because they think that its going to seep into your scalp and then get into your blood stream and go to your womb and then get to the baby but NO THAT DONT HAPPEN! or my bubba would be multi coloured!

Most of the Lo'real hair dyes work alright, I personally prefer Garnier Fructis, it stays the color you want it to be for the longest before it fades.

It also, honestly, really depends on your hair type, mine is super thick and it takes something strong to take the color

This depends a lot on what you consider "best", what you're trying to achieve and what the conditon of your hair is now (i.e. natural color, ever used color before, covering gray, dramatic change desired...?)

Some very basic guidelines:

DO NOT apply any type of drugstore haircolor over hair that has been treated with henna!!! Even if it seems the henna has faded, the chemical compounds in it that will ruin your new color are still present. Henna has to be grown out/cut off.

Level 3 or "permanent" colors (eg Feria, Colorsilk) will last the longest, meaning you will have visible roots as your hair grows unless you match your current hair shade very closely.

If your hair is naturally dark (coffee brown to black) DO NOT try to go much lighter using an over the counter hair color product. "Retail" hair dyes do not have the level of peroxide necessary to lift dark colored hair beyond a hideous, brassy orange shade!

If your hair has been chemically lightened, be careful if applying a dark(er) color. Try to choose a warm shade (gold or red based) to avoid green or violet discoloration to your hair.

Any shade of red will fade most quickly and requires the most upkeep.

My hair is very dark brown naturally %26amp; I have had literally every color, from platinum blonde to royal blue to tasteful auburn. I color at home and at a salon, depending on the process, but am an avid fan of home experimentation.
